The cover image of this book shows part of a bulk-micromachined accelerometer made by Sambuddha Khan as part of his PhD dissertation at IISc. The finite element mesh was created by Puneet Singh. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the mesh were blended and the image was artistically touched up by G. Bharathi.
